Palm City Farms.
Private farms and wooded acreage on the rural side of Palm City, minutes from Stuart.
Palm City has been home since 2009, when Edgardo and I moved onto our own horse farm here. The rural side of Palm City is a patchwork of small private farms, larger estates and wooded acreage on quiet roads, and it still feels like horse country.
You get room for horses and privacy without giving up Stuart's restaurants, the St. Lucie River, or a reasonable haul to the show grounds in Wellington.
- Land
- Acreage parcels, from a few acres to large estates
- Feel
- Rural and private, close to town
- Horses
- Private barns, backyard and professional setups
- A good fit for
- Riders who want their horses at home, and families who want land without being far from town.
Walking a property here
What I look at closely.
- How the land drains in the summer rainy season. I'd rather see a paddock the week after a storm than on a dry winter day.
- Deed restrictions or community rules on barns and the number of horses. They differ from one road to the next.
- Well and septic condition, and water quality for your horses as well as the house.
- Road access for a truck and trailer, including the turn into the property.
